Klecksography is the art of creating images from inkblots.  The art form was introduced by a German poet in the 1800s, and psychologists began using this art as a tool to study the subconscious minds of humans since the 1890s.

This art is created from spots of ink dropped onto a piece of paper and then folded in half to smudge the ink and form a mirror reflection in the two halves of the paper. The paper is then unfolded, ink is dried, and the artist then outlines / sketches to enhance an image perceived in the inkblots. 

Water colors may be used instead of or in addition to inks.
